about me

...i am: a second year doctoral student at Syracuse University. Before Syracuse, I lived in North Carolina, and am originally from Vermont. My professional background is as eclectic as my interests: I've written for a very successful webseries, and have spent my professional career working for a national bank in loan servicing. You can find out more about my professional and research background here.

...my research: is concentrated in Human Computer Interaction.      I am interested in the concept of exclusion, particularly within sociotechnical systems. I am also interested in the relationships between humans and machines more broadly. My research interests are algorithms, identity and identity work, marginalized populations, politics and political systems, #hashtags, and critical design. My publications are listed here.

...i enjoy: creative writing, watercolors, hiking, and rock climbing.
