about me

...i am: a first year doctoral student at Syracuse University. Before Syracuse, I lived in North Carolina, and am originally from Vermont. My professional background is as eclectic as my my interests: I've written for a very successful webseries, and have spent my professional career working for a national bank in loan servicing. You can find out more about my professional and research background here.

...my research: is currently focused on the potential harms of community, especially in digital space. I am interested in understanding how communities themselves can use marginalized identity to further marginalize within and external to marginalized communities. My research interests include: HCI, human-centered design, social movements, protests, #hashtags, and transitions. My publications are listed here.

...i enjoy: creative writing, watercolors, and rock climbing.
